All hung over and stuff, Nicki and I decided we needed sushi. (In case you don't know who Nicki is, she's the girl here with purple hair. Meet Nicki!) We both happen to be horrible with directions so its no surprise we ended up on the opposite end of the road we needed to be on. We had a specific sushi place in mind. The best in the city. However 5 minutes into our hungover escapade and we just want to plunk our bottoms down and drink glass upon glass of water. Luckily for us, we happen to see "The Sushi Cafe". Neither one of us had ever eaten there but at this point, we don't care where we get food from, we just want it. It was actually very good sushi. If you're ever in Halifax, you need to try "The Sushi Cafe". They make the absolute BEST sushi pizza I have ever had. We could have eaten 12 of them if we didn't fear the waitress was going to pass judgement on us.
We dug in before the picture.
Funny story. We were sitting there eating our sushi when all of the sudden that freaking sign blew out of nowhere and hit me in the back of the head. How much damage can a cardboard sign really do, right?
No day is complete without Starbucks.
I did that. I hashtagged in a blog post title. Don't care?
I'm excited to announce I got a new do! It's pretty dark and the blunt bangs were an adjustment but I've definitely warmed up to them(not that there was any question I wouldn't). I have had a day here and there when I miss my looooong hair but change is good and my hair will be long again. I'm someone who loves styling my hair all kinds of different ways so the only restriction I've come across so far is that because I have so many layers it's hard to switch it up from day to day other then from straight to curly.
Yesterday morning I woke up feeling lazy and the last thing I wanted to do was run a strainer or curling iron through my hair. I was trying for the life of me to get all of my hair pulled back into a topknot bun. I'm pretty sure that took more work then the straightener would have. I was teasing and spraying and pinning! Here is attempt at le bun.
#nomakeupdontcare LOL. I should probably stop with the hashtags here. Although I do think this hairstyle turned out super cute because I absolutely love the headband(I also have it in pink and might be considering getting the cobalt blue also) I do find it funny to see the size that my bun used to be which now is about 1/3 of that.
If anyone has any suggestions or tutorials for different hairstyles for medium length hair with lots of layers, please post them in the comments below!
Just one of three birthday parties for Ceili's third birthday. I guess that makes sense? 3 birthday parties for the 3 year old. This was the smallest one of all. Unfortunately, schedules didn't align and plans got changed so a tiny party for 3 was had. That's one the downfalls of our family being scattered all over the province.
I can't believe my little Ceili is three years old. Where does the time go?! How did this happen?! Although I miss her baby goodness, I love seeing her learn and grow. She's so much fun and makes me laugh every day.
Yes, that's a cheeseburger birthday cake. She always, always, always wants cheeseburgers and she's not always, always, always allowed to have them obviously. When I saw the cheeseburger cake, I knew it was the one for her. What a delicious cake, too. It didn't last long in our house.
She was scared of the candles.
It's hard work being a birthday princess.
It's the second day of summer and I so happy to say that the sun is shining and the birds, they are chirping! My photography skills are nothing fancy today and I really can't stress that enough! I'm in a super big hurry but here's my outfit of the day!
Earrings: Aldo
Dress: Garage
Shoes: Shoemint
Ring: HelloFab
Wallet: HelloFab
Nail Polish: Pink Obsession by GOSH
Ceili has a major case of the bed heads here. She clonked out in the afternoon(in her princess crown I might add) and woke itching to go outside and have a tea party. Tea parties in the back yard with Ceili are my new favorite thing.
First & foremost, I shall start my June 7th post off by wishing my Mother the happiest of happy birthday's! Ceili, Alex and I wish we could be there to celebrate with you! We LOVE you!
Along with my Mother, I also love Halifax. I love that I can just walk around the city looking like a tourist with my camera and just take it all in.The busyness of the city; people always on the go, different things to look at and of course, my two favorite spots; Spring Garden Road and the Waterfront. I can't get enough of those two places.
Wednesday night was a beautiful evening. So dear Rhonda and I decided we should go for a stroll and we ended up at the Public Gardens which is right off of Spring Garden RD and then we headed to the Waterfront.
Fact: There are more pubs per capita in Halifax than any other city in Canada.
